In 2010-2011 within the frameworks of the Big Bratsk project a tender was put out for the development of a vacuum system for a new pulp dryer. BKT-Service, who won the tender, in cooperation with СVN Vooner Paper Machinery specialists has developped and supplied a new vacuum system.
The new pulp dryer was started up in spring 2013. The construction of a new pulp mill in Bratsk is one of the largest investment projects in Russia's pulp and paper industry in the last 30 years. After the modernization, the Ilim Group's Bratsk Mill was meant to become the largest and one of the most modern bleached softwood pulp production facilities in the world.
The supplied new vacuum system consists of 4 liquid ring vacuum pumps, equipped with motors and reducers, complete with sealing water feeding control system and spray nozzles at the inlet to the vacuum pumps. The system has been successfully working for more than half a year, vacuum level complies with all TAPPI international standards and customer's requirements. Maintenance personnel has no claims or issues with the system, as it allows flexible adjustment of vacuum levels depending on the machine working conditions.
